Adolescent health research. Specifically, I interact with young people (10-19 years) to understand the various forms of behavior that can predispose them to injury, illness and social problems. I quantify such behavior and also explore its contributory factors.
Thousands of deaths and a huge portion of illness affecting young people and shattering is avoidable through behavioral modification. My work will help to identify gaps and help to enhance strategies that seek to help young people stay alive, healthy, and productive so as to realize their ambitions.
Working with young people requires passion above all. However, qualifications in Public Health medical sciences and Social Sciences come in handy. To achieve better research skills, you need to upgrade to masters’ degree or higher. For instance, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health Science, a Master’s degree in Public Health and currently pursuing a PhD in the same field.
