I would like to pursue computer science. The IT department SLAS rotations would really assist me growing my passion in operating computers and familiarization with computer basics which will make my career enjoyable. I learned about SLAS from my brother. My role model is Bill Gates for he was able to develop software which have left a mark in the world.

ICT DEPARTMENT

I had a wonderful time working in the ICT department. Some of the memorable moments I had include;
• Installation of OS
• Learning how the firewall works
• Learning to use powerpoint
The experience actually strengthened my aspirations of doing computer science. The main challenge I faced was that I lacked basic computer but I was able to catch up with the help of the technicians.


COMMUNITY LIAISON GROUP

Being in the community liaison group for two weeks has helped me improve my interaction skills by attending the KEMRI community representative meetings. I also gained skills on doing detailed minutes in the KCR meetings.I enjoyed my stay there.


WARDS WARDS 1

It is in this ward where I got to know various types of diseases. I had a chance to share with some patients and got to know some of the common diseases affecting children.


HIGH DEPENDANCY UNIT HDU

ward is for critical patients. The doctors were always busy in this ward and I liked the cooperation among them. It was sad since some patients lost their lives.


PHARMACY

I enjoyed the practical activities in this department. It was fun learning new things in dispensing, compounding and record keeping. I would be happy to work as pharmacist one day.
